We believe that our lifestyle should reflect responsibility towards the environment. Although it is a challenge to offer high-quality fashion at reasonable prices without compromising, an inexperienced man made a bold decision in early 2023 to transform the fashion industry.
His goal was to introduce a basic men's clothing collection that was accessible to everyone while moving away from the traditional approach to menswear. He was inspired by the idea of creating a brand that was both reasonably priced, sustainable, and at the same time maintained our commitment to the environment, a brand founded in Silkeborg.
With his deep commitment to sustainability from the outset, it was clear that BY GARMENT MAKERS should represent Scandinavian fashion that was accessible to all. He chose to defy the conventions of the fashion industry by offering slow fashion primarily made of organic cotton at affordable prices, leading to new ideas and opportunities for our brand.
From the idea of BY GARMENT MAKERS, it was clear that every decision he made should add value to men like himself, who shared his ambitions to protect both people and the planet.
His vision of creating ethical and organic menswear made it clear that he needed to find ways to make it more affordable. He carefully reviewed the supply chains and focused on delivering value to his customers. He prioritized essential aspects and omitted unnecessary elements to ensure that his clothing was always available at reasonable prices while remaining durable and of high quality.
A key element in By Garment Makers' success has been our partnerships with factories that share our values of ethical and more environmentally friendly production. We appreciate these partners as they play a central role in realizing our mission to create a more responsible consumption pattern within the fashion industry. The most important part of succeeding with ethical production is finding the right partners; the people who run the factories and produce our clothing. The clothing manufacturers are the heart of our brand, and it is important that their rights reflect that. Today, we have partnered with the best factories in the world that support our intentions and share the idea of creating ethical and less environmentally damaging menswear. Out of respect for these (often overlooked) workers and to show our appreciation, we simply named our brand BY GARMENT MAKERS.

Being a social brand and finding the right partners are crucial for working towards changing the way clothing is sourced, produced, and consumed. We take pride in knowing and nurturing our partners, knowing that our goal of shifting from fast fashion to a more environmentally friendly consumption would not be possible without their efforts.

BY GARMENT MAKERS has a consistent GOTS certification, just like our suppliers are GOTS certified. A GOTS-approved production ensures that the entire supply chain of the clothing is certified, from cultivation to production, where the key criteria for organic production and social responsibility are met.
