GOTS certification
At BY GARMENT MAKERS we aim to be among the best suppliers of sustainable menswear clothing. Our entire collection is made of organic fabrics and approved by GOTS (The Global Organic Textile Standard). Furthermore, we only cooperate with factories and suppliers which have achieved the very standard and in addition are practicing the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
GOTS is the world's leading textile standard. All products marked with GOTS are produced over a based number of high environmental standards throughout the entire textile supply chain.
The aim of the standard is to define globally recognized requirements that ensure the organic status of textiles. As a result, the products follow all standards set by GOTS in every step of the supply chain from harvesting of the raw materials through to manufacturing, labeling, and packaging.
GOTS also ensure the end-consumer that the product is produced under social responsibility and good working conditions. Several requirements for social responsibility based on standards from ILO (The International Labour Organization) must always be complied throughout the factories:
Prohibition of child labour, as well as prohibition of harassment, all types of discrimination and mental and physical abuse. Working conditions must be safe and hygiene conditions in order. The salary must always be decent and compensation for during extra hours must be given. Finally, the employees have got the freedom to engage themself in trade unions activities.
High quality
At BY GARMENT MAKERS we aim to deliver high quality of sustainable menswear clothes made ethically.
To increase longevity within the clothing lifecycle, we only used organic fabrics of high quality. Higher quality fabrics are more likely to withstand wear and tear over a prolonged period. Clearly, the nature of that wear and tear depends on the way the item is worn and being taking care off, but high-quality fabrics do have a significant impact on how well an item endures.
Our organic clothes appear soft, smooth to your skin and less receptive towards pilling.
Organic fabrics such as, organic cotton fabric is much more comfortable and better quality than the average cotton and is known to feel better in terms of comfort level. This is due to threads of cotton, which have not been broken down or damaged by chemicals used in the growing process.
When choosing organic clothing you will experience that the clothing will be breathable, hypoallergenic and will soften each time it is washed. It will also be free from the plastic microfibers that make their way into water sources after each wash.
Basics
At BY GARMENT MAKERS we have built our menswear collection around the idea that basics should be a major part of the entire collection. The increased focus on basic styles, is due to the fact, that basic styles in high quality are the best opportunity within the clothing lifecycle to increase longevity. That is since basics are styles, designed in a timeless style and in ‘classic’ colours, which are less likely to go out of fashion, one of the fundamental reasons for a consumer to discard a piece of clothing.
To emphasize the importance of good long-lasting basic styles, we have within our menswear collection handpick a selection of basic styles and named them NOOS (Never out of stock). Our NOOS styles are the best of the best basic styles within our collection and as named, styles which are always to be found in stock.
To ensure that extra softness and comfort to our NOOS collection, we have specifically chosen organic cotton to be our most important raw material by volume. This makes it difficult not to want to wear NOOS styles repeatedly.
